Folklives #1: Two Songs from Jim Page
We kick off our podcast series with excerpts from a 2007 Northwest Folklife Festival performance by the unimpeachable forerunner, forefather, and forward thinker of Seattle's independent folk music scene, Jim Page. Jim has played on stage and off at many Northwest Folklife Festivals, and his ability to tell captivating stories through his original songs has made him a legendary figure in Seatte's busking community. The two songs in this podcast reflect the breadth of Jim's songwriting, which moves from detailed portraits of daily life to sharp political satire. Jim is joined here by friend and frequent collaborator Artis the Spoonman.
